Dale Cox, Professional Speaker

Dale Cox is a professional food scientist, speaker, Star Wars® enthusiast, and LEGO® nut, among other things.  He has worked for companies like Kraft Foods, General Mills, Post Cereals, and Kellogg’s for 23 years and has developed foods many will recognize including breakfast cereals, Keebler cookies and crackers, Gorton’s fish sticks and filets, Planters nuts, and even a variety of Cheez-it.  Now his own company produces food science, physics, and cooking and baking courses for school aged children all the way through adults.  His professional speaking presentations can be tailored to your business, church, or community events addressing many different topics.

Dale particularly likes to help people learn to think like a scientist, recognizing the value in widely ranging opinions.  This includes being continually skeptical, questioning everything, checking sources, checking their sources, looking at the data, keeping an open mind, and recognizing that change is inevitable as understanding is advanced.

A common theme throughout his presentations is learning to value all opinions.  Many of the best advances in any discipline come from people who think differently than the majority and whose fresh ideas open a whole new world previously not even considered.  Learning to peaceably converse with a wide variety of viewpoints is a critical yet deficient skill today.  Dale loves to teach others how to improve their ability to communicate with anger or agitation, but with respect.

Another area of emphasis many find interesting is how food companies develop foods, do they really make food addictive, and what about all those strange ingredients I can’t pronounce.
